Good Morning Genmaicha!

Name: Genmaicha
Type: Japanese, brown rice tea
Company/Purchased: Indigo
Company/Purchased: Numi / TjMaxx
Taste: Sweet and nutty, and somewhat grassy. Once its cooled past tongue burning hot its very enjoyable. This tea is actually quite hard to explain when it comes to taste because it is unlike any of the other green teas out there.

This tea is known as brown rice tea because it is combined with roasted brown rice. It is also called Popcorn tea because of the resemblance the rice has to popcorn when it pops. So if you ever buy Genmaicha and find 'popcorn' bits in the bag, don’t worry its only the rice grains that have popped. This tea, like Gunpowder, is very finicky with its steeping time. If you have about a teaspoon of the tea you should allow for no more than a minute and a half for steep time.
