OOOOOooolong
Happy Sunday everyone!
For Christmas…… I didn’t get any tea. I think people around me figure that I’m so tea crazy that they will just end up getting something I’ve already tasted. However, my mother received some Oolong tea from a friend of hers and it is very good.
Everything about this tea is impressive, right down to the packaging. The canister is shaped like a cylinder with Taiwanese characters. Most of it is translated, including the main paragraph on the front. I think the coolest part would be the ink painting though. It’s black and white and depicts a small mountain village next to a lake. Of course it’s just a copy but still it’s very beautiful.
In the canister the tea in held inside a golden plastic (I think) packet. The name TenRen’s Tea is printed all over the packet along with Taiwanese characters. And then there is the tea.
Name: High Mountain Oolong Tea
Type: Oolong
Company: Ten Ren’s Tea
Purchased: Mom’s friend said she purchased it in Taiwan.
Comments/ Taste: The first thing I noticed when I opened the bag was the smell. Tea doesn’t always smell good even if it tastes good but this one has a very earthy Asian smell to it. Quite wonderful. And the taste is also quite pleasing. I accidentally let it steep a couple minutes longer then I meant to but it didn’t ruin the flavor at all.
I think I am a new fan of Oolong. Do you have any Oolong teas that you have tried recently?
